About Position/Job
Ulster University invites applications for two Research Assistant posts in Coastal Geomorphology, based at the Coleraine campus within the School of Geography & Environmental Sciences. Working under the Principal Investigator, these full-time roles (fixed term until December 2028) support specialist field-based research on topographical surveying, coastal change, and environmental monitoring across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. The work involves installing and configuring field equipment, undertaking high-resolution surveys on sand and rock coasts, and applying advanced coastal measurement techniques. Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Strong technical and scientific skills in topographical field surveying
- Experience installing and configuring research or monitoring equipment
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical field-related issues
- Experience or willingness to conduct fieldwork on coasts in NI and ROI
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with coastal geomorphological field methods
- Knowledge of advanced surveying technologies
- Strong analytical and technical reporting skills
