About the Position
The Chair of Islamic History and Culture at the University of Tübingen, Germany, is offering a Research Assistant position (m/f/d, 20 hours/month or more by arrangement) starting 1 September 2025. This role is part of the project “Mirrors of the Past. The Modulation of Historical Narratives in Early Arabic Political Advice Literature”, led by Dr Marianna Zarantonello. The assistant will engage in OCR digitisation, literature research, and event coordination, contributing meaningfully to an interdisciplinary academic environment. The position is initially for 12 months, with the possibility of renewal, and is especially suited to students in Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies or related programmes.
