About Position/Job
The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Bhopal invites applications for a Research Associate I position in the Department of Data Science and Engineering. This temporary, full-time role is part of a prestigious DST-funded project titled “Spatiotemporal Street View Data Generation using Deep Learning for Women Safety Perception Mapping of Indian Cities”. The role aligns with India’s growing AI-based research efforts and urban safety strategies. The selected candidate will contribute to the development of deep learning models using multimodal urban data and work with cutting-edge tools in generative AI and AR/VR technologies.

Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields from a recognized university/institute
OR - M.Tech. with 3 years of research/teaching/design experience and at least one SCI journal publication
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of Deep Learning, Generative AI, and Computer Vision
- Familiarity with game engines and AR/VR environments
- Understanding of optimization methods for multimodal datasets
Key Responsibilities
- Develop deep learning models using multimodal street view data, 3D urban twins, and point clouds
- Contribute to project goals, publications, and progress reporting
- Collaborate with BS/MS/PhD students
- Present findings at relevant academic forums
- Assist in creating tools for mapping women safety perception in Indian cities
