The University of Bristol is seeking a Research Associate or Senior Research Associate to join its world-leading Organic Geochemistry Unit and Bristol Isotope Group. Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- PhD (awarded or imminent) in Geochemistry, Earth Sciences, or equivalent professional qualification/experience
- High-level analytical chemistry skills
- Experience in MC-ICPMS/MS, ICP-MS and/or ICP-OES
- Ability to publish scientific manuscripts and manage mass spectral data
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in archaeology
- Strong database management and external collaboration skills
- Ability to train and mentor junior researchers
Key Responsibilities
- Secure and prepare archaeological samples for isotope analysis
- Conduct CC-MC-ICPMS/MS analyses and interpret data
- Prepare data for publication and contribute to reports
- Train and support undergraduate and less experienced lab users
- Liaise with external collaborators and organisations
