Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Master’s degree in Computer Science or Natural Sciences
Knowledge of data engineering and data science concepts
Experience in scientific programming (C++, Python, Matlab)
Unix operating system proficiency
Ability to work with large datasets
Collaborative and multicultural team skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with machine learning, data mining, or data assimilation
Knowledge of git, Docker, Kubernetes, or metadata management
Experience in high-performance computing workflows

Key Responsibilities

Maintain structured repositories for scientific data and software
Manage and enhance project websites with interactive tools and real-time visualisations
Develop software pipelines for processing, analysing, and visualising satellite data (GOES, POES, ARASE)
Adapt and extend existing scientific codes and models for new research problems
Contribute to numerical models (VERB) and machine learning frameworks (KpML, PINE, NET)
Perform observational and model data analysis, contributing to publications
Architect computational workflows ensuring reproducibility and efficiency
Support mentoring and technical team activities
Collaborate with international research partners
