About the Position
The Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS), Kolkata, invites applications for one Research Associate (RA-I) position under a SERB-DST-sponsored project titled “Buta-1,3-Diene based Small Molecules and Polymers: their Potential Applications as Light Emitting Diodes.” The successful candidate will join the School of Applied and Interdisciplinary Sciences, working under the supervision of Prof. Sudip Malik. This project explores cutting-edge materials for organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), focusing on synthesis, fabrication, and testing of small molecules and polymers for advanced optoelectronic applications. Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- First class or high second class B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, or Material Science with a minimum of 55% marks.
- PhD in Science with research experience and publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with:
- Glove box systems
- Thermal evaporator systems
- Fabrication of OLED devices using organic small molecules or polymers
- Testing of electroluminescence and light-emitting properties
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research on OLED device fabrication and testing.
- Develop and characterise new small-molecule and polymer materials for light-emitting applications.
- Maintain laboratory equipment including glove boxes and evaporator systems.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and contribute to publications in high-impact journals.
