About the Position

The Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), Bengaluru — an autonomous institution under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, and a Deemed-to-be-University — invites applications for a temporary Research Associate position. The selected candidate will work under the supervision of Prof. A. Sundaresan in the CPMU Unit on the project “Exploring New Quantum Materials from Extreme Conditions (ENUMERATED)”. The role focuses on discovering and characterising novel quantum materials through experimental approaches in superconductivity, low-dimensional magnetism, and crystal growth — contributing to cutting-edge advancements in condensed matter science.

Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • PhD in Condensed Matter Science

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Research experience in superconductivity, magnetism, crystal growth, and quantum materials
  • Experimental expertise in SQUID magnetometry, PPMS, and Arc-melting techniques

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on synthesis and analysis of new quantum materials
  • Operate advanced laboratory instruments (SQUID, PPMS, etc.)
  • Collaborate with research teams under Prof. Sundaresan’s guidance
  • Publish results in peer-reviewed scientific journals
