About the Position
The Nanyang Centre for Public Administration (NCPA) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, is offering a two-year Research Fellowship in the interdisciplinary field of Global Asia, beginning in September 2025 or shortly thereafter. This opportunity invites early-career scholars to engage in cutting-edge research that bridges Asian Studies, international political economy, and global history, with a strong emphasis on transregional and comparative approaches. Fellows will benefit from close mentorship by NCPA’s Director and collaborate with research staff across NCPA and NTU’s School of Social Sciences. The role includes coordinating research activities and engaging with partners such as the Lien Ying Chow Fellowship Programme. Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- PhD in Asian Studies, Political Science, International Political Economy, Public Policy, Sociology, Global History, or related fields
- Strong record of impactful publications and relevant research experience
- Demonstrated interdisciplinary expertise relevant to Global Asia
Preferred Qualifications:
- Comparative research approaches involving ASEAN and/or China
- Bilingual ability in English and Chinese preferred for China-based research
- Knowledge of a Southeast Asian language is an advantage for ASEAN research (not mandatory)
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and publish independent, original research on Global Asia
- Collaborate with NCPA and School of Social Sciences faculty
- Coordinate NCPA research activities and contribute to ongoing projects
- Engage with NTU’s Lien Ying Chow Fellowship Programme
- Represent NCPA in regional academic and policy networks
