About the Position
University College London (UCL) is seeking a passionate and talented Research Fellow in Decarbonisation of the Heritage Sector to join the Institute for Sustainable Heritage at The Bartlett School of Environment, Energy, and Resources. This exciting role will focus on addressing climate and sustainability challenges in galleries, libraries, archives, and museums, with a particular emphasis on Scope 3 emissions. The Fellow will lead an innovative research programme, collaborate with top institutions like the V&A, and contribute to the global conversation on heritage sustainability. Supported by Getty through its Global Art and Sustainability Fellows initiative, this position offers a unique opportunity to combine cutting-edge research with real-world impact in the cultural heritage sector.

Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- PhD or equivalent in heritage science, archaeology, heritage conservation, sustainable resources, decarbonisation, or carbon mitigation
- Independent and self-motivated researcher
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in organising participatory workshops and stakeholder engagement
- Strong collaborative and communication skills
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead an innovative research programme on decarbonisation in the heritage sector
- Collaborate with leading heritage organisations, including the V&A
- Address Scope 3 emissions challenges in galleries, libraries, archives, and museums
- Engage with stakeholders through workshops and public activities
- Contribute to UCL’s international leadership in heritage sustainability research
