Research Fellow in Ocean and Planetary Science at University of Southampton – Apply by 29 August 2025

About Position/Job

The University of Southampton is offering a 2-year Postdoctoral Research Fellow position in Ocean and Planetary Science, based in the Schools of Ocean & Earth Science and Physics & Astronomy. Supervised by Prof. Alberto Naveira Garabato, Dr. Alessandro Silvano, and Dr. João M. Mendonça, the role focuses on investigating ocean and sea-ice dynamics on Earth and icy moons of the Solar System. The successful candidate will work with the cutting-edge Oceananigans model and help co-develop a next-generation ocean component for the universal climate model OASIS. This project is highly interdisciplinary, bridging physical oceanography, planetary science, and climate modelling, and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to frontier research at a world-leading UK institution.
