About the Position

Queen’s University Belfast is inviting applications for a Research Fellow to join the Pollutants in Peatlands: From Sink to Source (PIPES) project. Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

PhD (or near completion) in Physical Geography, Environmental Science, Geology, Archaeological Science, or related discipline
Demonstrated experience in scientific data collection, analysis, and interpretation
Strong publication record relative to career stage
Ability to work effectively within a collaborative research team
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience managing laboratory operations or fieldwork campaigns
Track record of interdisciplinary collaboration and stakeholder engagement

Key Responsibilities

Conduct independent research within the PIPES project framework
Collect, analyse, and interpret geochemical data from peat cores
Manage laboratory operations and ensure data quality
Contribute to peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations
Engage in public outreach, dissemination, and collaboration activities
