About the Position

Queen’s University Belfast is inviting applications for a Research Fellow to join the Pollutants in Peatlands: From Sink to Source (PIPES) project. Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • PhD (or near completion) in Physical Geography, Environmental Science, Geology, Archaeological Science, or related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in scientific data collection, analysis, and interpretation
  • Strong publication record relative to career stage
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative research team
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing laboratory operations or fieldwork campaigns
  • Track record of interdisciplinary collaboration and stakeholder engagement

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct independent research within the PIPES project framework
  • Collect, analyse, and interpret geochemical data from peat cores
  • Manage laboratory operations and ensure data quality
