About the Position
The Complutense University of Madrid is offering a part-time Research Intern Position in History. This Internship is a part of the AmerMad2-CM Project: El Madrid Americano, Shared Heritage and Tourist Routes in the Community of Madrid, 16th-21st Centuries. This temporary position provides hands-on experience in American History and Heritage, including locating and transcribing archival documents, cataloguing collections, assisting with seminars and conferences, and compiling the intellectual legacy of Professor Rafael Altamira y Crevea. Candidates will work under the supervision of experienced researchers, gaining valuable exposure to historical research, archival methods, and heritage studies. This internship is ideal for candidates with a Master’s in History, especially those specializing in Latin American History, seeking practical experience in a leading European academic environment.

Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in History and Master’s Degree
- Strong interest in Latin American History
- Experience in cataloguing, bibliographic management, and archival work
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in publishing, dissemination, or organizing seminars/conferences
- Knowledge of historical archives in Madrid
- Skills in layout, transcription, and data compilation
Key Responsibilities
- Locate and transcribe American documentary records in historical archives
- Catalog and prepare introductory studies on collections at the Monastery of El Escorial
- Compile and systematize intellectual heritage of Professor Rafael Altamira y Crevea
- Assist in organizing conferences, seminars, and project-related activities
