About the Position
The Australian National University (ANU) invites applications for a Research Officer position within the ARC Centre of Excellence for Indigenous and Environmental Histories and Futures (CIEHF), part of the College of Asia and the Pacific. This part-time, continuing role (4 days/week) offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research integrating Indigenous and Western knowledge to explore Australia’s long-term environmental histories and near-term futures. The successful candidate will work closely with Indigenous communities, leading researchers, and partner organisations to support field-based research, data collection, and analysis. - Salary Range: AUD $85,434 – $100,378 per annum (pro-rata) + 17% superannuation

Research Area

Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Higher degree (Masters or PhD) or equivalent experience in relevant research fields
- Experience in field-based research, survey design, and data analysis
- Proficiency in MS Office and information management systems
- Commitment to working with Indigenous communities in Australia
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in palaeoecology, ecology, or geography
- Strong communication and report-writing skills
- Experience in multi-institutional, collaborative research
Key Responsibilities
- Support CIEHF research projects through fieldwork and data management
- Analyse and report research findings
- Collaborate with Indigenous communities and research partners
- Contribute to publications, presentations, and Centre activities
- Maintain records and project documentation
