About The Positions
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore invites applications from motivated and eligible candidates for multiple research positions—Field Assistant, Project Associate, Junior Research Fellow (JRF), and Research Associate (RA)—under the research project titled “Technological Innovation and Intellectual Property.” This interdisciplinary study aims to evaluate the Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) policy interventions promoting sustainable environmental practices in sectors such as water, waste, agriculture, and climate change. The project also focuses on the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) ecosystem and the role of innovation in academia, SMEs, and industry. Selected candidates will have the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research at the intersection of public policy, technology, and sustainability.

Position:
Field Assistant / Project Associate / Junior Research Fellow / Research Associate
Location:
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore, Khandwa Road, Simrol, Indore 453 552, India
Tenure:
Until 31 March 2026 (extendable as per institute and funding agency guidelines)
Salary:
- Field Assistant: ₹18,000 + HRA (as per DST norms)
- Project Associate:
- ₹31,000 + HRA (with NET/GATE or equivalent)
- ₹25,000 + HRA (without NET/GATE)
- Junior Research Fellow: ₹37,000 + HRA
- Research Associate:
- RA-I: ₹58,000/month
- RA-II: ₹61,000/month
- RA-III: ₹67,000/month
Age Limit:
As per DST and IIT Indore norms

Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Field Assistant
- Graduate in any discipline
- Prior experience preferred
- Project Associate
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environment, Economics, Public Policy, Management, Development, or related fields
- Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields with First Class
- Must have qualified GATE/CSIR-UGC NET/INSPIRE
- Research Associate (RA)
- Ph.D. or ME/M.Tech with 3 years of relevant research/teaching experience
- At least one publication in a Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal
Preferred Qualifications:
- UGC-NET, GATE, INSPIRE fellowship
- Prior research in STI policy, sustainability, or innovation
- Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct interdisciplinary research in STI and IPR
- Analyze data and policy interventions in sustainability sectors
- Collaborate with researchers and institutional partners
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals
- Present at academic conferences and workshops
- Support institutional teaching and outreach, if required
