About the Position
The CNRS is inviting applications for a Researcher in Archaeological Geophysics and Thermal Modelling to contribute to the conservation focused INSTEAD project. This full-time role centers on geophysical data inversion, thermal simulation, and on-site archaeological measurements aimed at understanding the preservation conditions of the historic Saint-Émilion monolith. Working in collaboration with Archéosciences Bordeaux, the position combines geophysics, thermal modelling, digital tools, and archaeological science to analyse water circulation and the thermal behaviour of ancient rock walls. The role aligns closely with the department’s goals in developing advanced methodologies for heritage conservation, ancient sites, and archaeological environments, offering an interdisciplinary and scientifically significant research opportunity.
