About Position/Job

Masaryk University – Faculty of Arts invites applications for a part-time Researcher position at the Department of Archaeology and Museology. This role is part of the RES-HUM project (“Ready for the future: understanding long-term resilience of human culture”), funded by the European Union / Next Generation EU. The post, starting 1 January 2026, is ideal for PhD students or early-stage researchers (R1) interested in archaeology, anthropology, biology, geology, history, or geophysics. The successful candidate will participate in interdisciplinary research, integrating humanities and natural sciences, contributing to field data collection, analysis, and publication activities. The position encourages innovative approaches, team collaboration, and the application of long-term historical resilience studies to modern societal challenges.

Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current PhD student in Archaeology, Anthropology, Biology, Geology, History, or related disciplines
  • Knowledge of English (B2); Czech language an advantage
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
  • Capacity for innovative and cross-disciplinary research
  • Ability to participate in international research projects
  • Basic IT and research skills, diligence, reliability, openness to change

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Publication record in the last 3 years (articles, books, chapters, reviews)
  • Knowledge of university research environment
  • Experience in interdisciplinary and international collaborations

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform research and development tasks under guidance of senior staff
  • Participate in team research activities and project workflows
  • Collaborate on field data collection, analysis, and evaluation
  • Contribute to publication and presentation of research findings
  • Support operational and administrative tasks related to the project
