About Position/Job
The University of Gothenburg is inviting applications for a Researcher in Marine Environmental History within its Department of Historical Studies. This exciting role focuses on the Biodiversa project: Socio-ecological planning of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) and involves developing an online story-map of pre-industrial fisheries across selected regions in Spain, Iceland, Norway, France, Italy, Tunisia, Turkey, Brazil, and South Africa. The position is research-focused (75%) with optional teaching duties (25%), running from June 2026 to January 2029. Supervised by Professor Poul Holm and Dr Per Hallén, the role encourages interdisciplinary collaboration with experts in marine ecology, fisheries, and historical economic research.
