The prestigious residential programme supports interdisciplinary research and promotes high-impact academic work. Moreover, it enables scholars to engage actively with global research networks while strengthening their academic careers through both independent and collaborative

Fellows undertake a research residency for either one semester, Duration: Autumn (1 Sep – 17 Dec 2027), Spring (11 Jan – 16 Jun 2028), or the full academic year 2027–28 in Uppsala, Sweden. They participate in seminars, workshops, and scholarly discussions within a dynamic academic environment. During the fellowship period, participants focus primarily on their research, stepping away from regular institutional responsibilities to produce high-quality publications and meaningful academic outputs.

Applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree awarded no later than 1 June 2023 and must demonstrate a strong record of research achievements. In addition, candidates should show clear evidence of international academic engagement and independent scholarship. Scholars from diverse backgrounds, institutions, and countries are strongly encouraged to apply.

The fellowship provides a monthly stipend and, in most cases, accommodation for fellows who are not based in the Stockholm–Uppsala region. However, the Collegium does not match existing salaries, so applicants are encouraged to secure additional funding where possible. Overall, this fellowship offers an excellent opportunity for researchers seeking international collaboration, professional development, and advanced research opportunities in Sweden’s leading academic environment.
