About the Position
Uppsala University is inviting applications for a four-year, full-time position as Associate Senior Lecturer in Conservation with a focus on collections management, based at Campus Gotland, Visby. Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Doctoral degree in Conservation or equivalent competence (awarded within the past 5 years)
- Pedagogical competence (at least 5 weeks of training or equivalent experience)
- Ability to teach in English and Swedish (or willingness to learn Swedish within 2 years)
- Demonstrated research ability in collections management
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise in conservation of objects and collections (1500–2000 period)
- Knowledge of standards, regulations, and systems related to collections
- Practical experience in preventive conservation and digitisation
- Experience in interdisciplinary collaboration and public engagement
- Ability to supervise doctoral students (with supervisor training)
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research (minimum 50% of duties) in conservation and collections management
- Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, including course development and coordination
- Supervise students and doctoral candidates
- Apply for external research funding
- Contribute to strategic research focus on Cultural Heritage at Campus Gotland
- Undertake administrative and collegial duties within the department and university
- Engage with academic and local communities
