About the Position
The University of Innsbruck invites applications for a Senior Scientist in Archaeology within the Faculty of Philosophy and History. Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- MA/MSc in geoarchaeology, bioarchaeology, or related archaeological discipline
- Practical experience in archaeological laboratory work
- Field experience in excavation, prospection, and sampling
- Excellent English skills and computer proficiency (GIS, databases)
- Category B driving licence
Preferred Qualifications:
- Micromorphology experience
- Research experience in Central Europe and the Alpine region
- Publication record in peer-reviewed journals
- Additional language skills
- Strong organisational, teamwork, and communication skills
Key Responsibilities
- Laboratory Management: Organise and supervise the Microarchaeological Laboratory, conduct analyses, prepare reports, and advise on sampling strategies
- Independent Research: Contribute to departmental and HiMAT research projects in archaeology
- Teaching: Deliver research-led teaching and supervise students
