Senior Research Fellow (SRF) Position in Biology at IISER Bhopal, India

About Position/Job

The Department of Biological Sciences at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Bhopal is seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Fellow (SRF) to join a cutting-edge project funded by DBT. The research aims to investigate the hypoxia-mediated relationship between CTCF, G4 DNA structures, and chromatin architecture, and their collective impact on alternative splicing in breast cancer progression. This position offers a valuable opportunity to contribute to high-impact translational cancer research while developing expertise in molecular biology, epigenetics, and next-generation sequencing (NGS) data analysis. You’ll be part of a vibrant and collaborative research team led by Prof. Sanjeev Shukla.

Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • MSc in Life Sciences or related subjects
  • Minimum two years of research experience in epigenetics, RNA biology, cancer biology, or NGS data analysis

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with molecular biology techniques
  • Skills in next-generation sequencing analysis, R programming, RNA work, or chromatin biology
  • Good communication skills in English (written and spoken)

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct molecular and cellular experiments
  • Analyse NGS data
  • Perform work related to RNA and chromatin structure
  • Prepare reports and presentations
  • Collaborate with internal and external researchers
