About Position/Job
The University of Aberdeen is inviting applications for a part-time (0.8 FTE) Teaching Fellow in Archaeology, specialising in the archaeology of Scotland and with experience in field-based archaeology. Based in the School of Geosciences, this fixed-term role (up to 9 months) will provide teaching cover during a staff member’s research leave. The appointed candidate will contribute to Professional Archaeology courses, teach a key module in the Archaeology of Scotland, and coordinate Level 2 Prehistoric Britain and Level 3 Archaeological Portfolio courses. Working closely with Professor Gordon Noble, you will join a department renowned for its academic excellence, commitment to hands-on learning, and exploration of Scotland’s archaeological heritage through innovative and research-driven approaches.

Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- MA in Archaeology or related discipline
- Specialism in the archaeology of Scotland
- Proven teaching experience in higher education
- Background in field-based archaeology
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience coordinating undergraduate archaeology courses
- Field leadership experience in Scottish archaeological contexts
Key Responsibilities
- Teach and coordinate modules in Archaeology of Scotland, Prehistoric Britain, and Archaeological Portfolio
- Deliver lectures, seminars, and practical sessions in Professional Archaeology courses
- Support student learning through field-based instruction
- Contribute to departmental academic activities
