IIT Gandhinagar invites applications for the position of 2 Junior Research Fellows (JRF) under the project titled “Profiling of Phytochemicals in Ayurvedic Medicinal Formulations and Understanding their Aggregation Behavior”. Sponsored by the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences, Ministry of AYUSH, the position offers a unique opportunity for candidates to contribute to research using computational methods to explore the phytochemicals in Ayurvedic sources. This role aligns with IITGN’s research goals in advancing the understanding of Ayurvedic science through modern computational chemistry techniques.

Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

B.Tech./B.S. (4-year program) or M.Sc. with a minimum of 65% marks in all degrees and a valid GATE score, CSIR-NET (JRF/LS), or DST (INSPIRE) qualification.
M.E./M.Tech. with a minimum of 65% marks in all degrees.
Eligible branches: Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Materials Sciences, Data Sciences, Ayurvedic Sciences.

Preferred Qualifications:

Programming experience (Fortran, C/C++, Python, Linux).
Experience with molecular modeling.
Previous work experience in related fields.

Key Responsibilities

Use computational methods (molecular dynamics simulations, density functional calculations) to study phytochemicals of interest from Ayurvedic sources.
Develop force fields for phytochemicals in the context of Ayurvedic medicinal formulations.
Collaborate with other researchers and contribute to the scientific community’s understanding of phytochemicals and their behavior.
