The Department of Biological Sciences, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Bhopal, invites applications for the position of Project Research Scientist I (Non-Medical). The position is funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and is part of the research project titled “Unraveling Fibrosis-dependent Circular RNA and Proteomic Perturbations in Pulmonary Disease.” The project focuses on advanced molecular biology, RNA biology, and proteomics to understand pulmonary disease mechanisms.

Research Area

Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Postgraduate degree in Biological Sciences or related fields (including integrated PG)
- Strong hands-on experience in RNA biology and molecular biology techniques
- Expertise in cell culture, RNA sequencing, and data interpretation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in pulmonary disease or fibrosis research
- Experience with bioinformatic tools for RNA analysis
- Proficiency in circular RNA techniques and virus-related assays
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct independent lab-based research on circular RNA in pulmonary disease
- Perform advanced molecular and RNA biology experiments
- Maintain mammalian cell culture and virus infectivity models
- Analyze sequencing data and prepare reports for publication
- Collaborate with PI and team on research planning and documentation
