About Position/Job

The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position in the School of Materials Engineering. The research project, supervised by Prof. Anagh Bhaumik, focuses on the synthesis and structure-property correlations of heavily doped carbon-based and 2D materials aimed at manufacturing multifunctional electronic devices. This role is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of a new synthesis-to-device laboratory and cleanroom facility at one of India’s premier institutes.

Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • PhD in Materials Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or Electrical Engineering
  • Candidates who have submitted their dissertation may also apply
  • Minimum 60% from Graduation onwards, 55% in Class 10th & 12th

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in thin film deposition (PLD, HFCVD, PECVD, Sputtering)
  • Hands-on with XRD, SEM, TEM, EBSD, Raman-PL
  • Familiarity with LabVIEW, MATLAB, Origin
  • Electronic device fabrication experience (solar cells, ferroelectrics)
  • Strong communication skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Research on synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials
  • Development of electronic devices using advanced materials
  • Establishing lab and cleanroom setup with Prof. Bhaumik
  • Documentation and publication of research outcomes
