About the Fellowship
The Doucet Scholarship offers an opportunity for early-career researchers, especially those from Latin America, to undertake a focused three-month research stay at the Max Planck Institute for Legal History and Legal Theory in Frankfurt. This fellowship supports projects that engage directly with the Doucet Collection—an extensive archive central to the study of colonial law and legal history. By enabling access to rare monographs and historical editions, the scholarship helps advance critical interdisciplinary and archival research. Fellows benefit from the Institute’s scholarly environment, expert support, and access to unique resources, contributing to global conversations in historical legal studies. The programme aligns with the Institute’s mission to foster international collaboration and legal-historical research of global relevance.
