About Position/Job

The Department of Archaeology, Classics and Egyptology at the University of Liverpool is seeking a dedicated scholar for a fixed-term Lecturer in Classics post, starting 1 September 2025. This part-time role (0.7 FTE) is vital to sustaining high-quality teaching and scholarship while a colleague undertakes a prestigious Loeb Classical Library Foundation Fellowship. The department is internationally recognised for its work in Ancient History, Classical Studies, and ancient languages. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to an intellectually vibrant environment, delivering teaching in Greek and Latin, ancient literature and culture, and supervising undergraduate dissertations. The ability to contribute to a second-year module on Herodotus’ Histories is highly desirable.
