About the Position
The University of Copenhagen invites applications for a Postdoctoral position in ancient environmental genomics within the Ancient Environmental Genomics Initiative for Sustainability (AEGIS). This two-year, full-time role will begin on 15 November 2025 under the supervision of Mikkel Winther Pedersen at the Globe Institute. The project, led by Prof. Eske Willerslev, focuses on reconstructing past ecosystems using ancient environmental DNA (aeDNA) and advanced computational methods to study biodiversity, ecology, and evolutionary dynamics. With its interdisciplinary approach, combining genomics, bioinformatics, ecology, geology, and archaeology, the position offers a unique opportunity to work with world-class researchers on a project of global significance that aims to develop climate-resilient agricultural practices.
