About Position/Job
The Faculty of Divinity at the University of Cambridge invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Buddhist Studies (Mahayana), starting 1 September 2026. The role is based at West Road, Cambridge and involves teaching, research, and administrative responsibilities. The successful candidate will deliver 40–48 lecture contact hours per year, including a full second-year undergraduate course in Buddhist Studies and contributions to first-year modules on world religions. Candidates should hold a doctorate in Buddhist Studies with proven research potential and publication record. This role offers opportunities to participate in College teaching for additional remuneration. Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:

- Experience in course design and curriculum development
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Willingness to participate in College teaching
Key Responsibilities
