About the Programme

Uppsala University invites applications for a fully funded PhD position in Library and Information Science with a focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Digital Humanities. Starting in January 2026, this position is offered by the Department of ALM (Archival Science, Library and Information Science, Museum and Heritage Studies) under the prestigious Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Programme – Humanities and Society (WASP-HS). Supervised by Professor Anna Foka, the project explores how AI reshapes culture, creativity, and collective memory within the humanities and cultural heritage sectors. This programme combines interdisciplinary research, technological innovation, and collaboration with leading Swedish and international institutions, providing a unique environment for developing sustainable and inclusive AI futures.

  • Familiarity with digital tools, programming, or quantitative research methods.
  • Strong academic writing and analytical skills.
