About the Program
The University of Bergen (UiB), Norway is inviting applications for a fully funded PhD Research Fellowship in Climate and Cryosphere Research. Hosted at the Geophysical Institute and affiliated with the Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research, this position offers an exciting opportunity to explore how climate change impacts snow dynamics in mountain environments. The fellowship, part of the Centre for Mountains in Transition (CMT), combines fieldwork, remote sensing, and advanced modelling to better understand snow accumulation, redistribution, and sublimation processes. The research carries strong societal relevance, supporting hydropower management, biodiversity, and ecosystem resilience. The successful candidate will join a leading international climate research hub in Bergen, working closely with experts across multiple disciplines and benefitting from UiB’s world-class facilities.
