About the Program
The PhD in History and Archaeology (2025 intake) is jointly offered by Vilnius University and the Lithuanian Institute of History. This fully funded program provides a generous annual stipend of €15,960–€18,480 supported by the Lithuanian state. Doctoral researchers will work on projects that explore significant themes in archaeology and history, engaging with both Lithuanian and global scholarship. Admission is based on a submitted research proposal, an interview, and academic merit. The program offers a collaborative environment, combining interdisciplinary methods, archival research, and opportunities for international academic exchange.
