About Position/Job

The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) invites applications from highly motivated researchers for a Postdoctoral Fellow position in the project titled “Precision Imaging across External and Internal Directed Cognition.” This is an interdisciplinary neuroscience research initiative focusing on EEG/fMRI-based cognitive analysis, covering domains like attention, working memory, social cognition, meditation, and more. The appointment is initially for six months and extendable based on performance.

Research Area

Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • PhD (or thesis submitted) in Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, or Psychology
  • Minimum 60% marks from UG onwards; 55% in Class 10 and 12
  • Strong programming experience in Python
  • Good publication record in relevant domains

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with EEG/fMRI experiment design and analysis
  • Background in behavioural task design and repeated-measures paradigms
  • Familiarity with neuroimaging data analysis (MRI, EEG, fMRI)
  • Strong data handling and analytical skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement behavioural and neuroimaging experiments
  • Collect longitudinal EEG/fMRI datasets
  • Analyse dynamics of cognitive paradigms (e.g. attention, planning, meditation)
  • Collaborate on multimodal data processing and interpretation
  • Contribute to publication of high-impact scientific outputs
