Eligibility / Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Hold a PhD in archaeology or a related discipline, including biology or environmental sciences
- Demonstrate predoctoral or postdoctoral experience in palaeoenvironmental studies and environmental archaeology
- Possess experience in archaeological and environmental landscape reconstruction through pollen analysis
- Show familiarity with palynology, non-pollen microfossils, and microchar studies
- Demonstrate suitability for interdisciplinary archaeological and environmental research activities
- Provide evidence of academic achievements and scientific contributions relevant to the advertised position
- Present language competence where relevant, particularly in English, Spanish, or Italian
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct palaeoecological studies using pollen, non-pollen microfossils, and microcarbon analysis
- Carry out laboratory and microscopic investigations for palynological research activities
- Participate in field campaigns, including sediment collection and environmental sampling work
- Integrate palaeoenvironmental findings with archaeological and geoarchaeological evidence from study regions
- Publish scientific findings and present research outcomes at academic conferences
- Contribute to the activities of the Landscape Archaeology Research Group (GIAP) at ICAC
