About Position/Job

The Centre of Excellence for Critical Transitions in Complex Systems (CTCS) at the Department of Aerospace Engineering, IIT Madras, invites applications for two Project Associate positions. These roles offer a unique opportunity to work under the guidance of Dr R. I. Sujith, an Institute Professor and Chair Professor, on cutting-edge research integrating deep learning and complex network approaches. The project investigates the spatiotemporal dynamics and teleconnections of extreme climate events, such as heavy rainfall, to enhance predictive models and scientific understanding. This position is ideally suited for early-career researchers with a strong foundation in atmospheric or climate science and programming skills.

Eligibility & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with data formats like NetCDF, GRIB

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in nonlinear dynamics
  • Experience with data analysis techniques
  • Scientific writing and reporting experience
