Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Completed PhD (or recently completed) in Ancient History, Classical Philology, or Classical Archaeology
  • Certified Graecum and Latinum
  • Excellent command of German and English (C1 level)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in research aligned with the August Boeckh Visiting Professorship
  • Knowledge of other modern scholarly languages
  • Teaching experience at the university level

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to research in Classical Studies within the DFG prize framework
  • Support the preparation of third-party funding applications
  • Conduct and publish independent research
  • Deliver teaching equivalent to 2 SWS (semester hours per week)
