About Position/Job
The Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur is inviting applications for a Research Associate – Subject Matter Expert to contribute to a high-impact project funded by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR). This role is situated within the Centre for Rural Development and Innovative Sustainable Technology, supporting a project aimed at strengthening smallholder welfare through digital supply chains. This is an exciting opportunity to engage in field-based, policy-relevant research that supports rural innovation and agricultural sustainability in Eastern India.

Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Postgraduate degree in a Social Science discipline with at least 55% marks
- NET / M.Phil / PhD qualification
- Minimum 2 years of research experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Randomised Control Trials (RCT) or Quasi-Experimental Research Design
- Familiarity with Willingness to Pay (WTP) Modelling
- Expertise in digital supply chain systems, especially in vegetable marketing channels and FPO functioning
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting and analysing field experiments
- Data collection and modelling (e.g., WTP models)
- Assisting in the design of digital supply systems
- Preparing research reports and project documentation
- Collaborating with the project team and smallholder stakeholders
