Researcher of Palaeoecology and Palaeogeography – Tallinn University of Technology, Estonia | Horizon Europe Funded

Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech), Estonia, is inviting applications for a full-time Researcher of Palaeoecology and Palaeogeography in the Department of Geology. This 18-month, Horizon Europe-funded appointment seeks candidates with expertise in palaeoecology, palaeogeography, Earth sciences or closely related disciplines.

The position is based in the Division of Quaternary Geology and forms part of the Past to Future: Towards Fully Paleo-Informed Future Climate Projections (P2F2) project. Working alongside an international research consortium, the successful candidate will investigate post-glacial biodiversity dynamics by integrating European palaeoecological and environmental datasets. The research aims to improve understanding of how climate change and human activities have influenced biodiversity across Europe.

As part of the project activities, the researcher will collect, harmonise and analyse large palaeoecological datasets using quantitative approaches and modelling techniques. The role also includes contributing to collaborative research, participating in scientific meetings, publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals and supporting the objectives of the Horizon Europe project through interdisciplinary cooperation.

In addition to research activities, the appointment offers opportunities to work within an established geological research environment while benefiting from flexible working arrangements, including partial remote working. The position suits researchers seeking experience in European palaeoecology, climate reconstruction and biodiversity research within an international academic collaboration.
