Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- PhD in Classical Archaeology or a closely related field
- Doctorate awarded with at least magna cum laude or equivalent honors
- A strong and theoretically grounded research proposal aligned with one of the following topics:
- Image Processes: Image Production as an Ongoing Process
- Semantic Ambiguities: Openness and Indeterminacy of Images
- Proven interest and expertise in ancient visual culture and image theory
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctoral dissertation focused on ancient imagery or visual analysis
- Already published PhD thesis
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct independent research and publish a monograph in alignment with the project themes
- Organize and co-publish an academic colloquium
- Contribute to theoretical advancement of the FRAGILE IMAGES project
- Present findings at international conferences and symposia
- Undertake reporting and administrative duties related to the ERC grant
