About Position/Job

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Tirupati, a premier autonomous institution under the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India, invites applications for the position of Research Associate-1. This role will contribute to a project focused on the Development of Retinal Organoids from Human Pluripotent Stem Cells, addressing critical research areas like neuronal metabolism, metabolism-induced stress in the central nervous system, organoid development, and retinal neuron biology. The project will be led by Vasudharani Devanathan, providing an excellent opportunity for candidates to engage in innovative, high-impact research in the fields of neurobiology and stem cell biology.

Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Neurobiology, Neuroscience, or any relevant life science field
  • Candidates who have submitted their thesis and are awaiting their Ph.D. degree may apply
  • Proven track record of high-quality research
  • Familiarity with bioinformatics and single-cell genomics is desirable

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in retinal neuron biology and organoid development
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting research in retinal organic development
  • Collaborating on projects related to neuronal metabolism and stress in the central nervous system
