Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- PhD in Human Ecology, Anthropology, Archaeology, or related field
- Postdoctoral experience
- University-level teaching experience equivalent to a full professorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven interdisciplinary research on human-environment relations
- Fieldwork experience, preferably involving indigenous communities
- Strong record of publications and external funding
- Capacity for collaboration within SHEP and other university institutes
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct independent and collaborative research in Human Ecology
- Teach at bachelor’s and master’s levels (e.g. archaeological sciences, prehistory, human evolution)
- Engage with Senckenberg’s strategic programme on “Anthropocene Biodiversity Loss”
- Participate in “Solutions Labs” – transdisciplinary think tanks addressing biodiversity challenges
- Collaborate with the Institute for Ecology and Evolution and the Senckenberg Society
