About Position/Job

The School of Education at the University of Leeds is recruiting a full-time Research Assistant for an Education Endowment Foundation-funded evaluation project. This role is vital to coordinating trials in schools, collecting data, and leading one of two evaluations from inception through to final reporting. The position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in education research while working in a collaborative and supportive academic environment.

Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in education or social sciences
  • Experience in school-based research and data collection
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage project timelines independently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience conducting focus groups or interviews
  • Knowledge of ethical considerations in educational research
  • Familiarity with trial-based research methodologies

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the evaluation of one of two education trials
  • Coordinate data collection from schools (teachers and pupils)
  • Conduct interviews and focus groups in schools
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of the evaluation
  • Collaborate with a small academic team
  • Contribute to the final publication of the research findings
