About the Position

Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), Bengaluru, invites applications for two temporary Project Associate-I positions under the EMR-funded project “Harnessing human stem cell-based technologies to study developmental mechanisms of epilepsy disorders” led by Prof. Anuranjan Anand in the MBGU division. This is a highly interdisciplinary opportunity combining molecular biology, genetics, bioinformatics, and neuroscience to study the molecular basis of epilepsy.

Eligibility & Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

  • M.Sc./Postgraduate degree in Biological Sciences
  • Qualified in national-level exams: CSIR-UGC NET, GATE, DBT-BET (Category-II)

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in molecular genetics and stem cell laboratory techniques
  • Familiarity with bioinformatics, transcriptomics, and statistical tools
  • Hands-on experience with animal handling
  • Strong collaborative and team-working skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research in molecular neurobiology using human stem cell models
  • Perform molecular biology, gene expression, and imaging experiments
  • Analyse data from transcriptomic platforms and statistical software
  • Contribute to scientific publications and collaborative research discussions
