About the Position
The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram (IISER TVM), a premier institution established by the Government of India in 2008, invites applications for a Junior Research Fellow position in a cutting-edge project on vesicle fusion. Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Postgraduate degree in Basic Science or Graduate/Postgraduate degree in a Professional Course
- Qualified in one of the following: CSIR-UGC NET (including lectureship), GATE, or any equivalent national-level examination by Central Government bodies
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least one year of hands-on research experience
- Training in cell culture techniques, bacterial pathogen handling, infection studies
- Familiarity with BSL2/BSL3 lab practices
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research under the project “Defining fundamental principles of vesicle fusion using infectious and genetic disease models”
- Perform experimental work in microbiology, molecular biology, and microscopy
- Maintain and manage lab documentation and reporting
- Participate in regular team meetings and collaborative discussions
