About the Position
Loughborough University’s School of Social Sciences and Humanities is inviting applications for a Research Associate to join the GLOW project. This exciting interdisciplinary role focuses on unlocking government archives using AI, bridging gaps between government professionals, Computer Scientists, Digital Humanists, and GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums) sector experts in the UK and USA. Under the guidance of Professor Lise Jaillant, you’ll work on improving access to born-digital records, addressing major challenges related to confidentiality, privacy, and technological constraints. The position offers a unique chance to make a public impact while developing your academic career. You’ll engage in qualitative research, stakeholder engagement, and event organisation, all while contributing to the university’s strong reputation for innovation in digital heritage.

Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- PhD in social sciences or humanities (or near completion)
- Expertise in qualitative data collection and analysis
- Experience authoring original academic publications
- Ability to organise complex, multi-stakeholder events
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on interdisciplinary projects
- Strong stakeholder communication skills
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct qualitative research including data collection, analysis, and management
- Manage communication with stakeholders and partners
- Contribute to the organisation and delivery of project events
- Support the principal investigator in delivering the project goals
