Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Completed master’s or diploma degree in Art History with a focus on Early Modern Art
  • Excellent German and English language skills
  • Strong communication and writing abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional proficiency in Italian
  • Experience in teaching
  • Didactic and organisational skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in research and teaching activities under the Chair of Early Modern Art History
  • Collaborate with the Vienna Center for the History of Collecting
  • Participate in departmental administration
  • Teach independently (2 hours per week per semester)
  • Prepare and develop a PhD dissertation focused on 16th–18th century Italian Art
  • Complete a dissertation agreement within 12–18 months
