About Position/Job
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee invites applications for one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and one Research Associate (RA) position in the Department of Earth Sciences. These roles are funded by the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), Government of India, as part of a research project titled “Biomarker constraints on major global extinction/evolutionary events preserved in terrestrial and marine sedimentary sequences of India”, under the supervision of Prof. Sunil Bajpai. The project investigates past extinction and evolutionary events in India’s sedimentary records through organic geochemistry. The selected candidates will engage in fieldwork, collect geological samples, and use advanced analytical techniques such as GC-MS and LC-MS. The position offers a unique opportunity to work on nationally significant palaeoclimate research with prospects for PhD enrolment based on performance.
