Postdoctoral Position in Sedimentology and Geochemistry at Paris-Saclay University, France

About the Position

Paris-Saclay University is inviting applications for a postdoctoral position in the field of sedimentology and geochemistry, based at the GEOPS laboratory in Orsay, France. The role is part of a cutting-edge research project focused on organic carbon accumulation in the Patagonian fjords, examining how climate change influences sediment dynamics and carbon budgets. The selected researcher will work on analysing data from sequential sediment traps, sediment cores, and satellite-derived turbidity.

The project is hosted by the Paleoclimatology and Sediment Dynamics group and involves strong collaboration with researchers across Europe and South America, including institutions in Germany, the UK, and Chile. This postdoctoral role offers hands-on experience through a Patagonia-based research cruise scheduled for December 2025, as well as access to advanced lab facilities. The position is fully funded for 12–18 months, depending on experience, and is ideal for a highly motivated early-career researcher with expertise in marine sedimentary processes and geochemical analysis.
