The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position in the Robotics Lab, focusing on Soft Robotics and Control Systems. Supervised by Prof. Madhu Vadali, this role is part of the project Development of Control and Learning Strategies for a Variable Stiffness Soft Robotic Gripper. The appointment is for 1 year, offering a consolidated monthly salary of ₹72,000–₹84,000 depending on experience. The selected candidate will work on advanced research in robot dynamics, soft robotics, control, and learning algorithms. Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or allied fields from a reputed institution
- Minimum 60% marks (or equivalent) from graduation onwards, and at least 55% in Class 10 and 12
- Strong knowledge of theory, mathematics, and coding
- Solid publication record in robotics or related areas
- Proven experience in robot dynamics and control
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior research in soft robotics or learning algorithms for robots
- Experience with robotic simulation software
- Strong interests in interdisciplinary robotics research
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research on control and learning strategies for soft robotic grippers
- Contribute to multiple projects in soft robotics and robot learning
- Develop simulation models, hardware prototypes, and perform experimental testing
- Collaborate with lab members and other research groups across IITGN
- Publish results in peer-reviewed journals and conferences
