About the Program
The University of Lleida in Spain invites applications for a fully funded PhD position in Public History, Digital History, Archival Studies, and Digital Humanities under the Horizon Europe – COFUND Iberus Interdoc Programme. Supervised by Dr Meritxell Simon-Martin, in collaboration with Dr Lorenzo Quirós Díaz (TranSkriptorium AI, S.L.) and Dr Roberto García González, this doctoral research will contribute to the project “The Lleida Teacher Education College Holding (1840–1951): A Digital Humanities Project (LleidaDH)”. The project focuses on digitising, preserving, and making accessible historical records of teacher education in Lleida. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to work at the intersection of digital innovation and historical research, contributing to inclusive and sustainable digital heritage aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goal 9.

Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in History, Archival Studies, Digital Humanities, or related discipline
- Strong academic record and research motivation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Research experience in digital archives or heritage studies
- Knowledge of AI tools, metadata management, or data visualisation
- Familiarity with FAIR data principles and ISO archival standards (15489, 30300)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
